Penetrant Testing (PT)

Definition: A non-destructive surface testing method to detect open surface defects of workpieces.

Dense non-porous workpieces including metal, ceramic, glass and hard plastic.

Main Procedures

  1. Clean surface to remove oil and rust
  2. Apply and soak with penetrant

  4. Spray developer
  5. Inspect and judge defects visually
